It is very rare to find a family who says, I want to do exactly what my parents did. So many couples today are building something completely new for their families. They are inspired by new traditions of those around them and have begun incorporating those traditions in their family as well.
If this describes you, then you are a “New Patriarch.” We see you and we applaud what you are doing. We want to encourage you to continue to be bold as you try new things. It’s scary to step out of the box, but it is completely worth it. But while you are trying new things, don’t lose sight of your commitment to your marriage. Work together to strategically determine the new rhythms of your family and train up your children in the new ways they will go.
